Official Porsche Website

Official Porsche Website
Today is such a tragic day.  Students killed at the community college in Oregon.  Then the politics begin before we even know how many have died and our cowardly leader starts blaming the NRA and gun rights activists.  I grew up when all the boys had pocket knives and a gun rack with a gun in their truck in the school parking lot..sigh...This is not a gun issue.  Its a moral issue.

Unspeakable truth

Politics..
I am reading the Rants in our local paper...Everybody is talking about Bush, Obama..politics..politics politics. Tuesday was election day here in our little town of 35,000. About 1000 people got out to vote. If you didn't vote please BE QUIET...If you don't vote you don't have the right to complain about anything that is done. You get the government you deserve. Nothing has changed in our little town. Things that affect us everyday..affect our children. The rants are whining about Fox News and what is the truth and what isn't. Here is some truth for you:

While you are ranting about these things.... nothing changes... nothing good comes of it.

Bush is no longer president. Obama is.

We have been at war since my son was 3 years old...hes 12 now..

If you go to war..use what you've got or get out.

We as a nation of people will come out of this one of two ways ...better or worse...I would love to see the better. But, I doubt it. We as Americans have become angry, rude and intolerant over the little things..people standing in line slapping babies because they cry...so lost that they kill their families and then themselves.

Wake up...I know one thing....nobody gets out of this world alive.

People can't handle the truth.

November

October is over and now I can enjoy the month of November. Time to fire up the furnace and heat up the hot chocolate. Pull out the games and jigsaw puzzles.
Maybe, we will have snow this winter, we have had so much rain..Tim remembers 17 inches on his deck..I would love it. So would my son!!

Happy Halloween

I want to thank all my friends and family who came to Jordan's party last night.
I want to thank especially Darlene and Emily for coming early and helping me with so much. I love you both. Jordan had a wonderful time and I hope all the kids did too!!!
Ashley our witches hats were so good they were gobbled up..gobble, gobble.(haha)
I think Tim and Todd got most of the bat wings. My Pumpkin Cake looked so good, especially after Darlene put the finishing touches on the icing that. Nobody wanted to cut it, it was so cute.
Thanks to Carrie for walking the "little monster" I was so tired I fell asleep sitting on the couch.
Next Day Surprises
Batman, the hermit crab used the cheese cloth to finally escape his cage and we found him hiding in the haunted house on top of the entertainment center.
Apparently the kids rolled Marty Lynn's car with the left over mummy rolls.
Emily truly had the best costume.!!!
Little Travis spent the night...surprise..
It was so nice to have my friends over and have adult conversations. Tim's sister Clara and his nieces Kim and Donna came.and we had little ones galore just everywhere and these were all the best kids ever. Not a monster in the bunch!!!!
I hope you all had a good time..too Luv you all.

ROAD LESS TRAVELED

I was rolling my Halloween pumpkins out to my car. I had just purchased them at the grocery store, There was a man outside, apparently an employee at the store and he was about to gather the buggies up to take back into the store. I asked him if he wanted my buggy too and he said yes and I told him he could have it if he would put my 3 HUGE pumpkins in the back of the car. We joked a little bit, small talk mostly, you know how we southern women do. And I told him as he was pushing my buggy away "Happy Halloween" and he says: (this is where it gets confusing and the point) "Oh Halloween is my saint's night"..I stared blankly.."you know," he said, "the saint of Goblins and Witches" I know I looked at him strange and said: "Oooh ...Kay" and got in my car and left. Is there a Saint other than Saint George that is over Halloween...I mean in Christianity..did I misunderstand. Did he mean he worshiped a saint..a demon.. the devil?. I hate to think of anyone that lost in the world. I found these words meaningful today; Its from Christs sermon on the mountain.
Mathew 7;13-14
13"Go in through the narrow gate; because broad and spacious is the road leading to destruction, and many are the ones going through it; 14 whereas narrow is the gate and cramped the road leading off into life, and few are the ones finding it.

Rant:October 17,2009

Ridiculous Rants and Other Observations

Rant: What good is it to call Wildlife Officers, when they won't come out after you tell them you have a bear in your yard and you can't even go out of you home at night?
Two words: Bear Season!!!

If you happen to be attacked by the bear, the National Park Service Black Bear Brochure advises you to fight back as hard as you can with any object near you. Be as loud and intimidating as you can. They suggest that playing dead is not appropriate.

Unless you want to be on the Buffet.

Black bears in North Carolina dens in November or December in hollow trees, rock crevices, or piles of leaves. These denning bears can be aroused from their deep sleep quickly, which is not like a true hibernator. Their body temperature only drops about ten degrees and their heart rate and breathing only decline a little bit. The black bear in North Carolina enters a state of dormancy or deep sleep. They wake up and forage on warm winter days.

Does this Ridiculous Rantor know where they live. The mountains of NC..Optimum word here is MOUNTAIN. Living in the mountains is liked Public Service work. You either got it, or you don't.

Ursus americanus, or the American Black Bear is unique to North America. They were here before the European settlers arrived.

That includes pretty much all of us.

I know what its like to have a bear coming to your house at night. Been there done that. Had a big one right outside my bedroom window one night around 2:00 am. Home with a little baby alone. Nothing between us but a window screen. I was petrified. Hoping I did not smell like anything that might be considered an appetizer. Black Bears are omnivorous.. I froze and he left. We saw him a few more times. But he stopped coming around when we stopped putting our garbage out at night and Bear Season opened up.

Never once did I think to call a Wildlife officer..I would have been too embarrassed and to publish it in the paper as an anonymous rant ..Egads ..It would have been etched on my tombstone.

Bears in the mountains are like pigeons in the city..They are everywhere. You just Do Not feed them.

Here are two things I know about our local bears. They are beautiful animals and if you think they wont hurt you then you need to watch When Animals Attack II.
That's why most local mountain people have guns.

Good grief..get a grip.

Blue Fire Hydrants:

It seems sad to see the red ones go away..but I really don't think its something to be offended by? Whine... Whine ...Complain...Get a life.

MACON MORON

The Franklin Press for putting fire hydrants on the front page instead of the mugging that happened on the Greenway on October 8th. A lot of people walk and run that area including my family and I. I believe that might have been more newsworthy.

When you want to fight a battle about everything..you are always at war. Choose your battles carefully. Remember GOD is videotaping everything you do.

I found this moving this morning..to not turn away anyone who only wants to worship Jehovah..to not judge those that have never done any harm and come to you in GODs name.I have been thinking this day of persecution and peace. If you read the verses Matthew10:34-39 It speaks of how you will lose people you love because you worship Jehovah. To someone like me..only my son and Tim as family..or my dear friends..to lose someone you love..because of my love of Jehovah and my refusal to judge would be so hard. It saddens me..but if he stands with me..who can stand against me.

Matthew10: 40-42

“He that receives YOU receives me also, and he that receives me receives him also that sent me forth. 41 He that receives a prophet because he is a prophet will get a prophet’s reward, and he that receives a righteous man because he is a righteous man will get a righteous man’s reward. 42 And whoever gives one of these little ones only a cup of cold water to drink because he is a disciple, I tell YOU truly, he will by no means lose his reward.”

An implantable chip could allow you to charge purchases or even start your car. It'd be convenient, It'd be convenient, to be sure. But would it be too creepy?
We already microchip our pets, and I would probably want to micro-chip my soon-to- be teenager if it was available.

Timothy McVeigh(Oklahoma Bomber) swore the military had put a micro chip in his buttocks when they gave him his anthrax shots. I didn't believe him then, the psycho, but think about it. It is soo hard to give credit to any of his words.
We know the government gave soldiers LSD in the 60s. Its not like they tell us everything. If my son was in a war, If he were captured, if he had a chip. They could find him right then. That's a lot of ifs.

But is it right..Is this where we are headed..Do you remember bar codes and UPC codes. I guess Bob Segar may be right ..we are all just a number. Or soon will be.

Would you be chipped? Would you let your children. Does this feel prophetic to you?

Rants-10-11-09

RIDICULOUS RANTS AND OTHER OBSERVATION

Rant: Just because the DA dismisses a case it doesn't mean a person is innocent.

Well...Actually it does.

In our Country you are innocent until a jury sayS you are guilty. You do not have to prove your innocence. The State has to prove you are guilty.

In this case they did not have even enough proof to press charges or go before a Grand Jury .I am not even going to pretend I don't know who this rant is about..Anyone who reads our paper or watches WLOS- 13 know who we are talking about. If you are a constant reader you know how I feel about RABID animals who hurt children. If not just check out last weeks Blog.

"It is better for ten guilty men to go free than one innocent to suffer." William Blackstone said this in 1760.

October 3, 1692, while decrying the Salem witch trials, Increase Mather wrote, "It were better that Ten Suspected Witches should escape, than that the Innocent Person should be Condemned.;

Benjamin Franklin stated it as, "it is better [one hundred] guilty Persons should escape than that one innocent Person should suffer".

"When GOD was going to destroy Sodom He told Abraham if he could find 10 righteous people in the city he would not destroy it. Out of a city that was an"abomination" in the eyes of God he would have left it standing just to save 10 innocents.

Think about it..

In early Roman and Jewish times you had to have 3 people to stand by you to prove your innocence. If no one came forth, you were guilty.

Juries find a lot of people innocent that we the public believe are guilty. We don't like it . But how many people are being let out of prison because DNA has proven them innocent. They have lost their lives..No innocent should ever suffer when there is a reasonable doubt.

Egads ..its election time in Macon..Mayoral and Aldermen. Its your choice vote..please vote wisely..don't vote..don't complain.

Bogus Cancer Cure Case..I don't know anything about this particular person, but anybody who profits on the desperation of the sick, lonely or broken hearted should be taught a lesson by a hickory switch.

MACON MORON
Jason Stamey..25 first he falls asleep (passed out?) in the McDonald's Drive Thru, when the cops wake him up he runs and they chase him down. He gets caught. A couple of weeks later, He runs a stop sign, he gets blue lighted and he runs again...Guess What ..he gets caught AGAIN. This guy is really a slow learner. What a MORON

H1N1(SWINE FLU): You know the CDC can give it all the pretty names they want to..to me its still SWINE FLU,just like SARS is still BIRD flu. I wonder sometimes just how stupid they think John Q Public really is. A flu with any other name will still kill you if it can.! ( mangled Shakespeare, Sorry Will).
For transplant patients like me these outbreaks can put put you on edge. My poor son has to have two flu test and two Strep tests since school started. They stick a swab so far up your nose it tickles the brain. He had "Type A" flu the last time. So guess what Mom got too!!! I got over it pretty easy . My Dr and Transplant coordinator gave me an RX for Tami-flu. one of the side effects is Odd or out of character behavior..
I guess me flipping my yogurt onto the ceiling could be considered an odd behavioral side effect.
Christie Downs, one of our own, who is a Post transplant patient is in Angel hospital in respiratory isolation with H1N1. Please Pray for her. She is so young and has two little ones that need her.

Christ stood alone before his accusers..his friends, his disciples had fled. This thought always makes me so sad..with all the good he had done, all the people he had healed, no one stepped forward to speak for him.

Remember your friends and accept their faults..love your enemies no matter how hard it is..GOD is videotaping everything you do.

Rants and more Rants 10/03/09

RIDICULOUS RANTS AND OTHER OBSERVATIONS FROM OUR LOCAL PAPER.

Rant: How can anyone be a Democrat and sit in church on Sunday? Abortion? Gay rights? Everything you stand for goes against the Bible.

OK....

I don't usually deal with politics and religion, but this is so out there I had to comment.

Here are my observations: The Rantor goes to church and wants to be a Christian. He is offended because there is a Democrat in Church. Not all Democrats are crazy right wingers, just like all Republicans aren't all left wing zealots. Does this Rantor know the contents of this Democrats heart? Does this Rantor know that according to the Bible you are not supposed to judge. Does this Rantor know that Christ said the healthy do not need a physician.

And who does he think he is to say who is supposed to be in church and who isn't. Maybe this Rantor should spend a little more time on his knees and less time looking down his nose on his neighbor.

Is he speaking for God..cause if he is I have got a ton of questions.

The wonderful thing about this country is we are given freedom of choice. Some choose wisely some don't. But the thing is ..we get to choose.

OBSERVATIONS

Absentee Policy:

My 12 year old had Type A flu..He missed 5 days of school. Doctors Excuse..Quarantine to keep it from spreading. I received 3 phone calls from our Principal and a letter. Here's the thing I called the school, I picked up his work and my son is almost a Straight A student. Hello..I even turned his Science fair project in so that it wasn't late. Is our middle school so big that they don't even read the Dr's notes. There are truly some wonderful people at the school like Ms. Paula Anglin that actually know what is going on and keeps everything rolling but, sometimes that place is so anti-parent. My son has wonderful teachers this year and I really like Mr. Maslin. Is it the school board that is so out of touch. There is a 19 day rule that keeps you from passing for Middle School. If my son gets the H1N1 virus I think, I will personally wheel him into the School Board meeting and let him cough on everybody there. Lets see how many days they miss.

As for the high school...I don't have to worry about that for another couple of years. But, in other states..like Georgia, if you don't go to school, the state pulls your Drivers license. This still boils down to parents. Me,I am a Helicopter Mom, I hover. Actually Iam not just any kind of helicopter mom, I am an Apache Assault. And proud of it. We Helicopter Moms have a word for those parents that are never involved. We call them Stealths..cause you never see them.

MACON MORON

CHRISTOPHER LUNTZ...that's all I need to say about him. He is GOD's now.

Carl E Nesbit Jr. 45 and Nathan Kristopher Boutin,32 plead guilty to child sex crimes.

I am a pretty laid back person, live and let live. love your neighbor. But,when it comes to crimes against children, all that goes out the window.

In medieval times we could have drawn and quartered them in the town square. You know, four big horses one tied to each limb and sent into 4 different directions until they pull the person apart. But,I guess we are more civilized now. Personally, I think they are Rabid Animals and need to be put down like one.

Shame on the Fanklin Press for putting it on page 10 and without photos. Parents need to see the faces of these animals.

Remember..talk your neighbor...do something about the things you can change..you can choose your path in life..choose well..GOD is video taping everything you do.

Rants

RIDICULOUS RANTS AND OTHER OBSERVATIONS FROM OUR LOCAL PAPER
We all read the rants and Raves from the paper. As much as I would like to deny that I read the weekly spewing of anonymous venom, I can't. Occasionally a little tid-bit of positive commentary is thrown in. Just to ease our conscience. But we all read the rants..that's why we read it. I don't have access to all the Rants, The Franklin Press gets, but I'll bet there are some dooseies. Every week there is one, so out there, so idiotic, that if I had put it in. I would want to be anonymous too. I would not want anyone to know. This weeks choice was:

If the U.S. postal Service would stop spending so much on Food Network and sporting events, maybe it would be fine financially.

What????

According to 2008 financial disclosure the USPS LOST 2.2 Million dollars. Which is more than 50% less than what they lost in 2007. It was over 5 million.
The question is do they spend 2.5 million on sporting events and the Food Network. OK... I can go along with sporting events. Its not cheap to advertise there. BUT, the Food Network...really how much can you spend on the Food Network. And what kinda person watches the Food Network to see the USPS Ads??? It boggles my mind. I can see why they would want to be anonymous .So would I.

Does The Postmaster General read the Franklin Press. Would he read the rants.

Why waste your energy on a rant when you could call the Postmaster General's Office, or email them. Or better yet..Send them a LETTER

Duke Power wants to raise its rates. To build a coal fired plant. Building a Coal Fired Plant doesn't bother me. Coal is required to be cleaner in the US than anywhere in the world. We have plenty of it. Everybody knows we need the jobs.( Except for the crazies out in Hollywood..But I am not going to go there.) But why raise our rates to do it instead of taking it out of the CEO'S pockets. My bottom line is in the red..how about yours Duke(like they read my blog!). My solution ...If everybody only paid half their bill for just one month, Duke might sit up and take notice.!! Of course, we would all be sitting in the dark. Boy, that would show them...yeah right.

BIGGEST MORONS IN MACON

Teens Throwing Explosives at the Wayah Tower.

These idiots not only used explosives at one of the most beautiful views in our county they video taped it and put it on YOUTUBE!!!

Apparently these moronic young men do not work or go to school. I would give them a choice. Army or jail. If they slack off in the Military they could always go back to jail. I have no sympathy for these morons.

LORD, I pray that I have raised my son not to do these things.

Prayers to all our neighbors who are struggling with the rain.

Instead of complaining, whining and just being petty..do something constructive. Don't hide behind a rant to spew your venom like a snake. Talk to your neighbor..find the people in charge talk to them . As I tell my son...God is video taping everything you do.

It's amazing how as you get older some of the things you learned as a child, and believed change. Mostly that's okay. When I learned that Noah's animals came on the ark not just in a pair. Only the unclean animals came on in twos and the clean animals came on in sevens. This didn't shock me. Actually it made a lot more sense. I always wondered how everybody was fed. Now I know. But did you know that Cinderella's stepsisters cut off their toes to try to fit into the glass slipper.?! And that the little mermaid doesn't get the prince but ends up dying. I much prefer the way Walt Disney rewrites literature. His is a much better world.
This is the last page on PBC from my earliest pamphlet. I hope it helped someone out there.
PBC
LIVER TRANSPLANTATION
Liver transplantation is now an accepted form of treatment for chronic, severe liver disease.
Advances in surgical techniques and the use of new drugs to suppress rejection have improved the success rate of transplantation. Because of the disease,s slow progress, it is possible to plan elective transplant surgery. Survival rates at transplant centers are well over 90%, with a good quality of life after recover
SUMMARY
Primary biliary cirrhosis is a slow, progressive disease. Once diagnosed, treatment is directed at managing symptoms and slowing down the liver damage. A great deal of research is underway aimed at discovering the cause, preventing damage to the bile ducts and liver., improving symptoms, and prolonging life. Transplantation is now a standard form of treatment for advanced disease. By working closely with the physician, there is a good reason to expect a favorable long-term outlook.
I was fortunate that I had good drs and a great hospital. I did not get the itching as intensely as other PBCers have. I had to have 2 liver transplants within a month. I am so blessed to be here. Thanks to all the prayers and my wonderful friends and family.

We have the sweetest little dog. At least we think we do. This is what Jordan did to our little dogs picture. They fight like siblings. If Jordan and I are sitting next to each other, Ceazar will jump up between us, and try to push Jordan out of the way so he can get all the attention.

PBC DIAGNOSIS

PBC diagnosis is based on pieces of information. Itching and fatigue alert the physician that bile ducts may be damaged. As previously mentioned, high levels of certain liver enzymes in the blood are important clues. Probably the most important laboratory test is one for mitochondrial antibodies. Mitochondria are the energy sources within cells. For unknown reasons a protein antibody develops against them in 95% of PBC cases. The physician must look at the whole picture to make the diagnosis of PBC. Often the physician x-rays the bile ducts to rule out other causes of obstruction. This x-ray, called an ERCP, is performed under light sedation. A lighted, flexible endoscope is inserted through the mouth, stomach, and then into the small intestine. A thin tube is placed through the scope into the bile ducts on the x-ray. As the disease progresses, a liver biopsy is needed to determine how much damage hoccuas rred. Under local anesthesia, a slender needle is inserted through the right lower chest to extract a small piece of liver for microscopic analysis.

I never had to have a biopsy until after my transplant. I had a picture of my liver. When I had my hysterectomy my doctor took a picture of my liver and gave it to me. I was a really sick little puppy, more so than anybody thought. How many people can say that. If it is weird, It will happen to me.

Do you remember The Dancing bear from Captain Kangaroo?? I loved that show as a child. Looking back..you know Mr Green Jeans was kinda scary. They tried to remake it, but it was a flop. We were more innocent then. I think there is a Bucky Covington song there somewhere...
PBC SYMPTOMS
PBC occurs in both men and women, but women get the disease 10 times more often than men. It usually begins between the ages of 30 and 60. Early in the disease, many patients have no symptoms. The only findings may be abnormal blood laboratory results. For example, a high level of the liver enzyme called alkaline phosphatase may be found in the blood. Itching fatigue are common symptoms later in the disease. Itching is caused by bile entering the bloodstream.
As PBC progresses, other symptoms occur. there may be jaundice(yellowing of skin and eyes from excess bile in the blood), cholesterol deposits in the skin, fluid accumulation or edema, and darkening of the skin. Other immune related problems may be present. For example. the tear and salivary glands may not function properly, causing dry eyes and mouth. Arthritis and thyroid problems may be present, and osteoporosis can develop in later stages. The bones become soft and fragile, leading to increased risk of fractures. The development of cirrhosis is the end result of PBC.
I used spell check on this one..sorry about the typos on the last post..hope they were not distracting...

Causes of PBC

I did not have any liver problems in my family history. I only suffered from allergies once in a great while and I do not have lupus or RA. However, I had surgery on my legs as a child and I have used Tylenol since it came on the market. I don't give my son Tylenol.

Causes

The exact cause if PBC is unknown. Scientist believe there could be more than one contributing factor. While it does not have the traits of an inherited disease, it dows appear more often in some families. People with PBC sometimes have a history of allergies or autoimmune disturbances--that is when the body's immune system recognizes a partof the body as foreign and injuries or goes to war against it. Rheumatoid arthritis and lupus are examples of autoimmune disorders.
PBC:
So many people don't understand this disease. If you know what you are dealing with its easier than dealing with the unknown. I was lucky because I found good Drs and live in the state of NC which has the research triangle. I tried to scan and download some of the information I have but I am technology challenged so here is some of it. If this helps one person then it is always worth it.
PRIMARY BILIARY CIRRHOSIS is a disease of the bile ducts inside the liver. It progresses slowly so patients may lead active, productive lives for many years. In PBC, the bile ducts in the liver become inflamed. The inflammation is chronic(constant over a long period of time),and causes scaring that eventually blocks and destroys the bile ducts.
This condition interferes with the proper drainage of bile, so the bile backs up into the liver and into the bloodstream, causing various symptoms.
Eventually the liver itself becomes badly damaged and scarred.
This is known as cirrhosis.

A Trip to the Doctors

So we headed to Chapel hill on Sunday. Tim had just worked a 12 hour shift @ Jackson Paper and Jordan and I got to pack the car and pick him up. I forgot pillows and blankets. We picked him up at 6:15 and headed out on the4- 5 hour drive. His idea of Sunday dinner was a drive through at a McDonalds. I don't eat there, and just had an Apple Pie. Nothing for me after midnight....I have tests tomorrow. We pull up at the Holiday Inn where we always stay and I go in and realize that I made reservations at the Holiday Inn Express. Its 5 miles up the road and my guys (Tim and Jordan) act as though I have just committed a crime. They are tired and hungry. Hello I was in the car too..I am tired too..I apologize profusely for the mistake and they do not cut me a break...until it makes me mad.. Then all is forgiven. The new place has a fridge, flat screen TV and microwave. Plus they gave us goody bags..Thank goodness. I ate them at 12:05 but don't tell my radiology people. And they had free breakfast. So I thought it turned out OK. Wake up call @6:00am, out the door at 7:00, In ultrasound by 8:15. Blood work at 9..and I head to Dr. Jama Darling's for my 10:40 appointment. I realize that I do not have my bag of medicine. I freak out...I cant miss my medicine..One missed dose can send me into rejection. I have everybody in UNC looking for my bag including security. It cant be found..finally I call Tim, They are at the Barnes and Nobles.Just got there...I ask him to bring my extra Neoral (IMMUNE), I lost 5 bottles of medicine. Which includes the one that keeps me from freaking out. I am freaking out!. Tim calls me back..my bag of meds are in the car. Oh! MY! Dr. Darling is late I wait for a 10 minute talk with her until 12:15. I got lost 3 times in the hospital..trying to find everyone and looking for my meds. I head to the transplant clinic. Hoping for new tummy tuck and getting to see my favorite Dr. Dr. Kozlousky. (siiigghhhh..my hero) I look up and its the British guy..yuck. ..our hermit crab has a better bedside manner. He isn't going to do anything.Oh well..the good news: I'm doing great...I don't have to go back until April.(barring disasters) I'm grateful...
I think I'm going back to being a redhead or a brunette...I think this blonde hair is getting to my head. No offense to my wonderful and very smart blonde friends..whom I love very, very much.. But I just gotta ask ...How do you live like this.?!

Jordan went back to school today. I hate middle school. It is so anti parent. I could not even find out who Jordan's PE teacher was this morning to ask him or her how they wanted us to handle Jordan's smashed toe. That was very irratating. The fact that I am an over protective parent doesn't help.
At least they have a name for mothers like me we are called: HELICOPTER MOM" We hover over our children. I am not just any kind of helicopter. No weather or even a police helicopter. Nope I am a Apache Assault. I used to feel defensive about being so protective. More than one friend and teacher felt the need to tell me I was. I had to defend myself. I prayed and prayed about it because I thought I might be warping his little head. Asking GOD what to do. We are a very close little family. And waiting for a phone call that will save your life will make you hold your loved ones a little closer. In my case a lot. And one day I heard God telling me it was not a bad thing but that if I did not protect my child..who would. So I try to be there for my son..hovering in case he needs me. I think that is what GOD does...He hovers..he is always there if we need him...I guess he is like a Helicopter Parent.
And Christ said when the disciples would have rebuked the children: Suffer the little children, for they are the kingdom of heaven. I am so happy to be a child of God..Amen.

This is a picture of us when we went on Vacation in TN. This was taken at the TN Aquarium. It is a beautiful place. They have two buildings. One is for fresh water and the other is salt water. We watched an Octopus change its color which was really cool. There was a lot of walking but, I did it without a problem. Its so amazing that by the grace of GOD that I'm walking anywhere.
We also saw river otters. They were behind a plexi-glass wall that said DO NOT PUT YOUR HAND OVER WALL. THE OTTERS WILL BITE." Well...what is the first thing Tim does? He sticks his hand over the glass. One of the otters climbed on a rock and stood up and was about 6 inches from Tim's hand. It was an amazing sight. And the one we remember most.

The following notes were from 1999. Ten years ago transplant patients didn't have any choice. Isnt it amazing how far we have come. Two of the Drs. mentioned in this article were mine. Dr Fair is the one who told me the rabies story.
Enjoy this day for the Lord has made it. Amen

A Landmark Liver Transplant Saves Lives, by Steve Baragona, Endeavors, Spring 1999

A Landmark Liver Transplant Saves Lives, by Steve Baragona, Endeavors, Spring 1999: "Usually, a patient needing a liver transplant has to wait for an organ to become available from a cadaver. Fifteen percent of patients on the waiting list for donor livers die before one becomes available, Fair says. And the list grows longer every year.
But now a patient in desperate need of a liver may not have to wait for an organ that never comes. Fair estimates that living adult-to-adult liver transplants will supply up to a third of the needs in the United States.
Using an organ from a living donor allows doctors to operate while the patient is relatively healthy. And a living organ will work better sooner.
Transplanting from living donors is possible because of the liver's remarkable ability to regenerate. No other organ in the human body can do that. In about six weeks, both the donor and recipient livers grow to accommodate their bodies' needs. The liver serves as the body's pantry and washing machine, storing surplus sugars and removing toxins from the blood.
Adult-to-child transplants have been performed for several years. The adult-to-adult operation 'is essentially the same procedure as the adult-to-child, but it's much harder because of the magnitude involved,' Fair says. A larger section of liver is needed, requiring many more delicate surgical connections.
Since the first surgery, Fair and his team have performed two more living-related adult-to-adult liver transplants. All four patients are doing well.
Baragona is a research technician in the Division of Infectious Diseases.

Tim's newest thing is fly fishing. Apparently this is an acquired art unlike just fishing. Who Knew? He is headed out today with some guys from work ,which is great. It gets him out of the house and away from the stress of work, his mom,me. Truly I was blessed when GOD sent me this wonderful man who drives me so crazy. Thank You GOD.!
Worthless Trivia
During the middle ages a lb of the spice ginger was worth one sheep.
The Greeks created gingerbread. They would wrap a piece of ginger in bread and eat it after meals to aid digestion.
Ladies would give knights ginger before jousting to bring them good luck.
Helpful Hint
Use regular toothpaste (non-gel) to clean sneakers using an old toothbrush.
Wash your hands with toothpaste to get rid of onion, fish, garlic, etc.
Have a great day and let me know you are out there. Deborah

GOD'S MYSTERIOUS WAYS WITH MOTHER-IN-LAWS
I Love GOD. The way he has handled things in my life has been nothing short of miraculous.
And he has always been there. Of course there have been so many times. When I have prayed and prayed for something I wanted, His answer was no like any good parent it was not what was best for me. And yet I struggled on, usually getting what I wanted and later on after a major mistake I would go back to GOD and say Why did this happen??? Why.. Because I acted like a 2 year old with a tantrum and like a rebellious teenager. Had to do it myself ,make my own mistakes.
I love being a Christian. Life is so much simpler. I let GOD work things out for me and I just try not to embarrass him or dishonor him.
You know I write this hesitant to use GODS name. Jehovah. I just always feel so empowered when I say it. Does it do that to you?
I have a wonderful friend that I love very much who is finding her way back to GOD. And while she has made mistakes as we all have, She has always been a kinder person than I am. We have wonderful disagreements about things.
The point of all these ramblings is that tomorrow( or today since it is 5:30 and I have been up since 3:40)I stay with Tim's mother for a couple of hours. I don't mind sitting with her, its just that it reminds me so much of when I was in the hospital after my transplants.
And here is where God comes in . Tim's mother Arlice and I never got along. I never went to her house and she never came here. Because she overstepped her bounds, I am an extremely private person, and Tim and I were having problems. All this was 10 to 12 years ago. We eventually went to our separate corners and that maintained the status quo. Until I got sick, and that is when things really started getting bad.
She started calling a lot, and I mean alot. At all hours, day and night. She was diagnosed with Parkinson's, Alzeminers and Dementia. During this time I kept praying for something to turn up to help me pay my rising medical bills. So after 10 years I go to her home and here is this frail little old woman. I left my animosity at the door. I still don't like going over there ,but not because of her. This is what I think.
GOD saw the perfect opportunity to rectify 2 problems in my life. He took away the hardness in my heart towards my mother-in-law and I get paid to sit with her, which helps pay some on my medical bills.
Isn't it funny how GOD manages all these things. It just tickles me when I think about it and leaves me with a smile. My father in Heaven. Hallowed be thy name.
Do you have something God has made you smile about?? Let me know.

I had (have) a wonderful friend that I worked with at the hospital years ago. She brought my son and I home from the hospital. We sort of fell out of touch and she went through a divorce and moved to Florida.

I was in Wally World today and I passed a person and I thought why she looks just like Kathy. But I am so bad at recognizing people.

Just yesterday I saw this man walking up the hardware aisle and poked Tim who has very good eyesight and all hie neurons, I said :

"Look that man could be your brother."

Tim looked at him and looked at me and said :"

"What in the world are you talking about?! That guy doesn't look like anything my brother."

By this time the gentleman had gotten closer and outweighed Tim about 200lbs.

Tim did not think my mistake very humorous. I do this all the time. Either see someone and think they are someone else or see someone I should know and dont have a clue. Its as if I was asleep for 3 years and I just woke up.

S0000..when I saw her face, I just went on by. Thinking nope that's not her. We left Wal-Mart ( I really hate that store since they remodeled it) and went to Ingles. I was looking in my buggy when I heard Deborah and it was her. we hugged and talked and talked and talked until Tim and Jordan' pushed us toward the check out. I asked her to call I hope she does.

Well, my son has made it home. I am so glad. During his time at camp, I did not know when he would call, so I carried the cordless phones with me at all times. I ended up losing one phone and the other one went dead. I am just sad, that's the only way to describe me... just sad(Ha ha)

Here is an original poem. I k now linda faye will remember it. I wrote it when I lived in a haunted house. If there is such a thing. But that's a story for another day. Here goes:

Believe
I Believe in the magic of the first snowflake of winter
the Rainbow
that someday I'll fly,
, without wings
I Believe that my Barbie could really talk ,
and that Ken is anatomically correct
I Believe that if you dig a whole deep enough,
you will come out in China.
I believe that there will be peace on earth.
that everyone will be brothers and sisters.
I believe that some day I will see Alaska
that someday I will be happy.

I believe that there are mermaids and unicorns,
castles on clouds floating through air.
true love
I believe in friendships that last forever.
GOD, CHRIST, AND THE Holy Ghost
in angels
I believe that music soothes the savage beast
that turkeys are the dumbest animals on earth.
I Believe in the wagging tail of a dog,
the purr of a cat, and the grace of a horse
The sound of a rushing creek
the silence of a forest.
I believe that Bambi's real mother is alive,
that the one that was killed, stole him at birth.

I believe in the bittersweet emotion of watching the first leaf fall,
dying as it drifts to earth

I believe in Santa Claus and the tooth fairy
that an apple a day-
I believe a rose would not smell as sweet
if it was called a dandelion.
I believe in miracles and magic
aliens and spaceships
Bigfoot and baby pigeons.
I believe that chickens do cross the road
that the cutest actors do not have the same bodily functions as we do.
I believe in blue jeans and silk
elves, fairies and toadstools
sunrises, sunshine, and sunsets
I believe in rocking chairs
southern front porch swings
I believe that blue cheese is turkey food.
I believe in the Calvary,
John Wayne, Gary Cooper, Lucille Ball
I believe that the good will of Christmas can last forever,
If everyone believed it would.
I believe in all the lost dreams of childhood
that someday I will be as a child again
I believe
do you?

written in 1995 I hope you like it.

Today I finished painting my hallway. I have a terriable headache. Tim (my SUBSTANIAL ) other is bringing home meat from the Deli. I missed my best friend's oldest sons birthday. Happy birthday Bandon. We love you. My 12 year old is away at camp. How I miss him. He comes home tomorrow. There is so much to talk about. Having a transplant is not the way I had planned my life. But I play the cards I am dealt and try to remember that everything is just sand. Have youy heard the story. A teacher(or pastor) holds up a glass jar filled with golf balls. He asks if the jar is full. Of course everyone says yes. Then he pours small rocks in the jar. Is it full now he asks his class. Of course they say yes. Then he adds sand (sometimes its water)and that really fills it up. He then tells them that the golf balls represent the important things in life. Your family, friends God your morality and character. The gravel represents the stuff you just have to deal with like a rock in your shoe that you cant get out. If you walk with it long enough first you get a blister, then a callous and finally the peeble is worn smooth and you just don't feel it anymore. And the sand is the small stuff that gives you the grit to walk with that peeble. I try to remember that almost every trouble is sand.
Hello,
I'm Deborah. I have had an organ transplant. I am very grateful. Its very hard to be grateful all the time.
